Favorite Quotes

While searching through my Pinterest for an idea for my latest blog post, I went through my board with some quotes that I have pinned. I have quotes for a little bit of everything. Most of them seem to be just random once that I most likely came across while I was searching through Pinterest one day.

Now if you are like me, you use quotes for little reminders to just enjoy yourself. I have one sitting in my room reminding me that everyday is a second chance. I bought a canvas a few weeks ago at a local store that says that dreams don't work unless you do.

After going through 957 pins on my Quotes board on Pinterest, I picked my top ten favorite quotes to share. These are ones that I look at when I am feeling a little blue. With my recent diagnosis that has been happening alot lately. I have made sure to post these in areas around my house to give myself a reminder that everything will be ok.

"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise" -Les Miserables

"Some people are like clouds, once they are gone it's a beautiful day"

"Don't  get your tinsel in a tangle"

"Don't let the shades of yesterday spoil the sunshine of tomorrow"

"She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her away, she adjusted her sails" -Elizabeth Edwards

"Leave a little sparkle wherever you go"

"You don't have to feel like a waste of space, you're original, cannot be replaced"-Katy Perry

"When it rains look for rainbows. When it's dark look for stars"

"Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars"

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain"

Back from Vacation!

Sorry that I have not posted in awhile. I have had alot going on!

I am still in the planning stages of my novel. Right now I am stuck on what each of my characters are going to look like. I can picture Vlad in my head but I can not for the life of me describe him. I have been using Pinterest to get some ideas. I may have found a still from a movie that can help *fingers crossed*

As for all my other characters, NOPE! Got nothing for them. I do know that my female MC is going to be based on me. While scary, it is also sort of exciting for me. Thought it would help me to write the female MC if I put her in situations and ask myself how I would respond to that particular issue.

In October, my Dad, daughter and I went on a vacation and that was well needed! We took a nine day vacation to South Carolina, Dad's birthplace. We had not been there since 2004. It was the first time my daughter had went on a major road trip and the first time she got to meet her family in South Carolina. Got to see Pretty Place, which is WAY up in the mountains, got to take my daughter to Fort Moultrie, Isle of Palms, The Battery and the USS Yorktown. Going on vacation really helped to clear my mind and help me get some more general ideas for my book.

We plan on going back in June!

Pinterest and Novel Writing

Thank you to the person who invented Pinterest, why?

Because my story keeps changing and it sucks at times!
Anyone else have that problem?
I have always wanted to write a novel but decided this was the time to do it. I know what I want to write about the only problem is somethings in my story keep changing and I am not sure where to start. I have the location set along with one of my main characters but the story itself keeps changing. At this point I am not sure what to do or where to turn.  All the webpages and blogs that I searched for to help tells me that this is normal. I just feel like something is off, was not sure where to turn. So……
This is where Pinterest came into play.

Ah yes, Pinterest.
This has got to be one of my favorite websites to visit. I love being able to go on there and find just about anything that I need, it has come in handy for my daughter’s party planning, to finding new recipes, and now finding ideas and tips for my novel. It has really helped with character development, and how to plan the location.  I even found a map of the country that my story is set in.

So thank you Pinterest, you made starting my novel a tiny bit easier!

Welcome to Sissie's Novel Ventures!

Welcome to Sissie’s Novel Ventures!

As you can probably already tell, I am currently in the process of getting this blog the way I want it so please, be patient :)

I started this blog awhile back but it just sat here, wasting away to nothing. A few months ago I decided to write my first novel, which is untitled at this time. While doing research for my novel, everyone kept saying that I would need an author site or blog to help get my name out there in the world. So I came back here and I am now in the process of getting my blog and novel together.

Hope you can join me on this fun but long journey! :)
